Coronation Street was the most-watched soap on Easter Monday

Coronation Street topped the 9 million mark with both episodes of its Easter Monday double bill, overnight figures show.

9.62m (40.0%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 143k (0.5%) on +1 as Stella and Karl shared a kiss, while 9.33m (34.9%) returned at 8.30pm and 159k (0.6%) on +1 as Karl was shocked to hear of an improvement in Sunita's condition.

EastEnders attracted 7.45m (29.0%) at 8pm on BBC One as Bianca worried about the gang being released on bail, while BBC Three's repeat screening secured 446k (2.7%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale interested 7.05m (32.3%) at 7pm on ITV as the police were called over Belle's photo scandal.

Hollyoaks managed 870k (4.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with Phoebe's shock collapse, while E4's first look had 526k (2.4%) at 7pm.

On Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 408k (3.1%) at 12.45pm and 890k (4.9%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away appealed to 209k (1.8%) at 12.15pm, 639k (3.3%) at 6pm and 402k (2.0%) for 5*'s first look at 6pm.
