EastEnders topped Tuesday evening's (March 19) soap ratings as Tanya and Phil struck up an unlikely bond, overnight figures show.
7.96m (35.9%) watched at 7.30pm on BBC One as Phil invited Tanya round for dinner after she lied to Max about having a new love interest. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 410k (2.9%) at 10.30pm.
Emmerdale interested 6.96m (33.4%) at 7pm on ITV as Cameron saw an opportunity to turn the tables on Charity, adding 234k (1.1%) on +1.
Holby City had 4.76m (21.0%) at 8pm on BBC One with an episode titled 'Holby's Got Torment'.
Hollyoaks appealed to 1.02m (5.2%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with Brendan and Walker's final showdown, while E4's first look had 809k (3.9%) at 7pm and 190k (0.9%) on +1.
On Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 668k (9.6%) at 1.45pm and 925k (5.9%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 738k (4.0%) at 6pm and 452k (2.3%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.49m (21.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
