Coronation Street tops Wednesday evening's soap ratings

Coronation Street was Wednesday evening's (December 12) most-watched soap as Carla and Leanne's feud turned violent once again, overnight figures show.

The Weatherfield drama pulled in 8.26m (37.9%) at 7.30pm on ITV1 and 350k (1.6%) on +1 as Leanne angrily confronted Carla for trying to drive Simon home while drunk.

Emmerdale, meanwhile, attracted 6.93m (33.7%) at 7pm and 250k (1.2%) on +1 as Priya questioned her future with David.

Hollyoaks interested 1.02m (5.0%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with Jacqui's outburst on Rhys's funeral day, while E4's first look had 652k (3.2%) at 7pm and 166k (0.8%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 627k (8.8%) at 1.45pm and 1.09m (6.4%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 748k (3.9%) at 6pm and 494k (2.4%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.37m (19.2%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
