'Coronation Street': 6.3m witness Kirsty's violence

Coronation Street was the most-watched soap on Thursday evening (August 2) as Kirsty lashed out at Tyrone yet again, overnight figures show.

The ITV1 drama pulled in 6.29m (25.2%) at 8.30pm as Kirsty attacked her fiancé for giving Tommy time off work for a holiday. 285k (1.3%) watched an hour later on +1.

EastEnders, meanwhile, attracted 5.3m (23.6%) at 7.30pm on BBC Two as Ian Beale finally returned home to the Square. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 651k (5.4%) at 11pm.

Emmerdale mustered 5.15m (24.8%) at 7pm as Amy finally decided to visit Kerry, while the next developments between the pair were seen by 5.2m (22.1%) at 8pm and 222k (0.9%) on timeshift.

Hollyoaks managed 608k (3.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 321k (1.5%) for E4's first look at 7pm, while over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 601k (6.7%) at 1.45pm and 894k (5.7%) at 5.30pm.

On digital station 5*, the latest classic episodes of Home and Away appealed to 206k (1.1%) and 213k (1.1%) at 6pm and 6.30pm respectively.
