Ratings: 'EastEnders' Ian Beale fears shared with 6.8m

EastEnders was Tuesday evening's (May 29) most-watched soap with the continuing aftermath of Ian Beale's disappearance, overnight figures show.

The Albert Square soap pulled in 6.75m (35.4%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Ben and Jay began to fear the worst over Ian. BBC Three's repeat screening secured a strong 853k (4.5%) at 10pm.

Also on BBC One, Holby City entertained 4.76m (23.5%) at 8pm with an episode titled 'Kids' Stuff'.

Emmerdale, meanwhile, attracted 5.85m (34.0%) at 7pm as Alicia heard that she could be heading to jail, adding 168k (0.9%) an hour later on +1.

Hollyoaks mustered 660k (4.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Doug received support from Leanne and Texas. Numbers for E4's first look then saw a boost, with 437k (2.5%) watching at 7pm and a sizeable 248k (1.3%) tuning in on E4+1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 558k (9.5%) at 1.45pm and 829k (6.9%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 682k (4.7%) at 6pm and 402k (2.5%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors - titled 'Smash The System' - was seen by 1.29m (22.1%) at 1.45pm.
