Ratings: Ella's affair keeps 'Emmerdale' above 6m

The aftermath of Ella and Adam's affair helped the Emmerdale double stay well above 6m viewers on Thursday evening, according to overnight viewing data.

The rural soap grabbed 6.11m (33.7%) on ITV1 from 7pm, as Ella found herself banished by Declan after the truth about her affair was revealed. Declan's decision to get Ella out of his and Mia's lives for good was seen by 6.91m (34.3%) from 8pm and 156k (0.8%) on ITV1+1.

Also on ITV1, Coronation Street averaged 8.06m (37.4%) from 8.30pm and 252k (1.2%) on ITV1+1, as Peter heard the truth from Stella after making a startling discovery.

EastEnders appealed to 7.45m (38.1%) on BBC One from 7.30pm, as Michael caused friction on the Square by toying with Jack, Ronnie, Kat and Alfie. An additional 1.12m (5.7%) saw BBC Three's repeat screening from 10pm.

Elsewhere, Hollyoaks had 860k (5.1%) on Channel 4 from 6.30pm, and E4's first look at the next episode appealed to 401k (2.2%) from 7pm.

Neighbours mustered 618k (8%) on Channel 5 from 1.45pm and the repeat screening grabbed 1.16m (9.1%) from 5.30pm. Home and Away fetched 732k (4.8%) from 6pm, before 5*'s first look at the next episode entertained 418k (2.5%) from 6.30pm.
