There was no skate-off to save themDancing on Ice has announced the first contestant to leave this year's competition.
Last week's premiere episode saw the first batch of celebrities kicking off the series, before a surprise twist was revealed. Viewers were informed that there would be no skate-off after the public vote, meaning the lowest ranking couple would be immediately eliminated.
Tonight (January 19), the remaining five celebrities – Charlie Brooks, Dan Edgar, Josh Jones, Sir Steve Redgrave and Mollie Pearce – took to the ice to show off their skating skills.
Judges Oti Mabuse, Ashley Banjo, Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill scored the performances before the public voted for their favourites.
The combined votes and scores were counted for each of the 11 pairs, landing comedian Josh and Hollyoaks' Chelsee Healey in the bottom two.
Ultimately it was Chelsee and her partner Andy who were the first to be eliminated from the competition.
Chelsee praised Andy for her "amazing" journey on the show, adding: "I honestly couldn't have done it without him".
"I feel personally there's been a lot going on with me that I've been struggling with so I couldn't completely focus. Andy knows," she explained. "I'm just really grateful. I had the best time!"
The competition continues next week (January 26), as the remaining celebrities return for a special Movie Night episode.
Dancing on Ice airs continues next Sunday, January 26 on ITV1 and ITVX.
