The Great British Bake Off has unveiled its three finalists for the 2024 series, with Georgie Grasso, Dylan Bachelet and Christiaan de Vries all still vying for the title.

Tuesday’s (November 19) episode saw the remaining four bakers return to the tent as they aimed for a place in the showpiece event, with the quartet being tasked with making several patisseries.

After three hotly contested rounds, it was time for judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith to make their decision, with the pair opting to send the aforementioned trio through to next week’s grand final.

This meant that Gill Howard became the last baker to be fully eliminated from the series, with the star saying of her agonising exit: "Patisserie got me! But I can't be sad – I've had the absolute best time. Brilliant, I can't be sad!"

"It wasn't that Gill messed up, it was just everybody else was that little bit better. She's such a lovely lady, and she represented the north [of England] and my part of the extremely well," Paul reasoned, with Prue adding that she was "sorry" to see Gill leave.

"It broke my heart to hear Gill's name being called. But I also thought 'oh my God, I'm a finalist.' It was so bittersweet. The Welsh are still in!" Georgie remarked, whilst Dylan said it was a "privilege" and "absolutely insane" to reach the final.

Fans of the show took to social media to express their opinions on the finalists and elimination, with one viewer writing on X/Twitter: "Jeez, I’ve started crying over the #BakeOff final already and it’s not until next week #GBBO."

"One of the best ever #GBBO semi finals all the contestants are very likeable some stunning baking from all of them shame one had to go all four could easily have made the final glad I wasn't a judge," a second fan remarked.

The Great British Bake Off and its spin-off Bake Off: An Extra Slice both air on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show, and streams on Netflix.
