Tina O'Brien becomes 4th 'Strictly' eliminee

Tina O'Brien has become the fourth celebrity to be eliminated from the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing.



The former Coronation Street star and professional partner Jared Murillo found themselves in the bottom two alongside Felicity Kendal and Vincent Simone, after failing to rack up viewer votes with their Halloween-themed Argentine tango.

Upon hearing the news, O'Brien expressed her regret that the public hadn't seen the same amount of potential in her as the judges.

"I have had the best experience of my life but if it's to be, it's to be," she said. "I've had the best time ever, I can't thank you all enough and I'm just really sorry to Jared 'cause i really wanted to do more."

When asked what she would take away from her time in the show, O'Brien replied: "A love of dancing. I think it's something I want to continue for the rest of my life."

Before hearing who had been eliminated, show judge Alesha Dixon stated that she would be particularly upset by O'Brien's exit.

"It would be such a shame to lose Tina, she's got so much more to give. For me she's at that stage where she's growing."

Fellow judge Craig Revel Horwood agreed with Dixon's assessment, describing the result of the public vote as "unbelievable".

Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday at 6.15pm on BBC One.
