Celebrity MasterChef has eliminated another contestant as the grand finale draws closer.

After last night's double elimination, Lisa Snowdon, Kitty Scott-Claus, Cliff Parisi, Mel Blatt and Danny Jones made it to the final week of the cooking competition.

Tonight's episode (September 16) saw the celebrities face their toughest challenges yet as they cooked to celebrate the BBC's 100th anniversary – but in the end, it was Kitty Scott-Claus who was eliminated.

To celebrate the BBC's anniversary, the competitors were tasked with putting on an afternoon tea for 12 special guests, which included actors Sir Tony Robinson, Su Pollard, journalist Clive Myrie and Strictly judge Anton Du Beke.

The challenge proved to be difficult for the contestants, who were all pushed for time as they only had two and a half hours to complete their dishes.

"Right now, it's touch and go," John Torode noted as he watched over the cooking.

Lisa and Danny were particularly pushed for time, relying on teamwork to put the finishing touches on their dessert dishes.

Kitty managed to remain calm through the process, but once it came to assembling her dish, things began to go wrong. She ran out of profiteroles before being able to finish the tower, something which John noted was due to her forgetting to use an entire bag of pastry.

Things only got worse from there as the profiterole tower collapsed before she could serve it to the guests, causing the judges to step in and assist with the presentation.

For the second task, each celebrity had to recreate a dish from their childhood.

Lisa, Mel and Danny all managed to impress the judges with their dishes, becoming strong contenders in the eyes of the panel. Mel's cooking skills in particular were highlighted by John and Gregg, who were pleased with her French fish soup accompanied by a cheese crouton.

"[You're] showing a great deal of cookery technique," Gregg told the singer.

While Cliff's steak and croquette dish was well received, the presentation raised some questions from the judges. "Throwing flowers at the plate is not presentation, it's throwing flowers at the plate," Gregg said.

For Kitty, it was another pastry nightmare as her rhubarb and custard eclairs suffered from flat shoe pastry. Despite her elimination, the drag performer was still in high spirits about her time in the competition.

"More than anything I just feel proud of myself," she said. "I've has the most amazing time."

Celebrity MasterChef airs on BBC One.
