Taskmaster has apologised as ongoing technical issues at Channel 4 affected the third episode this season.

Viewers have become frustrated since the 12th season started two weeks ago (September 23), due to technical difficulties causing problems including visuals being blurred, the brightness being too high, the audio being distorted and the subtitles not working.

The premiere accidentally aired a censored version of the episode that would usually only be available on All 4. Since then, some haven't been able to access previous episodes on the website either.

The Taskmaster himself Greg Davies and his co-host Alex Horne both personally addressed the issue on Twitter, with Davies writing: "I'm so delighted to see so many people livid about a lack of bad language."

The second and third episodes had problems with the contrast and brightness, which viewers called "uncomfortable" to watch. Subtitles were also unavailable for the programme.

On its official Twitter account on Thursday (October 7), Taskmaster responded to the ongoing issues: "We know some of you have experienced problems watching the show this series. This is due to the ongoing technical issues at Channel 4, and that's also why the bleeped versions of Taskmaster aren't currently available to watch on All 4…

"All we can say is they are hoping to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We are working on a solution but for now can only apologise and recommend following or tweeting @4Viewers for updates."

At the time of writing, subtitles are still unavailable on both Channel 4 and All 4. Many viewers have pointed out that the lack of subtitles has caused accessibility issues for those who are deaf and hard of hearing.
