Steve Brookstein: 'X Factor is staged'

Steve Brookstein has claimed that the X Factor winner is fixed from the start of the competition.



The Daily Star quotes the singer, who triumphed in the reality show's first series, as predicting that head judge Simon Cowell will call a halt to the programme after the current run.

"Only to bring a bit of normality to proceedings because I think the whole thing is staged. They already know who they want to win this year's show," he said. "I think this series will be the last one and next year Simon will be doing it in America."

Brookstein is now not included on the official X Factor website following a string of bitter comments towards Cowell last year.
