Next stop, Tel Aviv!
BBC Two aired Eurovision: You Decide tonight (February 8) live from Salford's MediaCityUK, with Mel Giedroyc and Eurovision 2015 winner Mans Zelmerlow introducing all of the singing hopefuls looking to represent the UK in Tel Aviv.
Taking place in the Israeli city, this year's Eurovision Song Contest promises to be one to remember. The six candidates locking horns tonight offered a mixture of emotional performances – some powerful, some poignant and, unfortunately, some rather deflating.
he six singers who competed were Holly Tandy, Jordan Clarke, Michael Rice, girlband Maid, Kerrie Anne and Anisa.
However, there could only be one winner of the You Decide showdown, and 2019's victor was Michael Rice, who sang a gloriously feel-good tune titled 'Bigger Than Us'.
For those unsure about Michael's chances of winning the true Eurovision, he's had previous success in music competitions. Just last year, he was crowned the top dog on BBC One's singing competition All Together Now.
Best of luck to him in Israel!
The Eurovision Song Contest 2019 will air live on BBC One and BBC Radio 2 on Saturday, May 18 from the Expo Tel Aviv. Graham Norton will return as the voice of the show.
