Nuneaton Borough FC have signed a former Love Island star.

The Boro have revealed that central defender Luis Morrison has joined the team.

While he has a long career in football, Morrison is also known for starring on the first series of the hit ITV2 show Love Island in 2015.

He started a relationship with fellow contestant Cally Jane Beech and they went on to have a daughter together, although the pair have since split.

According to Nuneaton Borough, the 6ft 3in defender signed on Friday but was not registered in time to make his debut in the FA Trophy away to Brackley Town.

He began his career at Stevenage, graduating their academy before moving abroad to play in both Sweden and Finland.

Returning to the UK, Morrison had spells at Maidenhead United and Hereford before moving to Farnborough in January 2014.

A stretch at Essex based side Canvey Island preceded stretches with Greenwich Borough, Altrincham and Alfreton Town.

Morrison said he was delighted to join the 'Boro, saying: “I’m really excited to be here at Nuneaton, the club has seen a lot of turnover lately and hopefully with Fowls and Nick Hawkins driving things we can see some stability.

“It’s an exciting place to be, we want to, and need to, perform better, Lee’s very positive and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

According to the club's website, Morrison has become temporary manager's Lee Fowler’s first signing.

Fowler took over after manager Nicky Eaden left the club last week.
