Fairytale Week turns sour for him and partner Brianne Delcourt

Alex Beresford has become the latest celebrity to have their dreams dashed on Dancing on Ice, meaning he loses out on his happy ever after – and next week's semi-final.

Alex and his professional partner Brianne Delcourt were defeated in the skate-off by Kem Cetinay and Alex Murphy.

Alex and Brianne performed again to 'Don't Dream It's Over' by Crowded House, before Kem and Alex danced for their place to 'There's Nothing Holding Me Back' by Shawn Mendes.

Jason Gardiner chose to save Kem and Alex, while Ashley Banjo agreed, saying he thought they would be "most competitive" in the semi-final.

Jayne Torvill also saved Kem and Alex, saying that it was inevitable that a good skater would be leaving at this point.

Head Judge this week Christopher Dean backed up the decision, saying it would have been a "clean sweep".

Alex said he was "really happy" to have made it so far in the competition and praised Brianne for everything she'd done.

He also admitted that he was proud of how hard he'd been working and said he was looking forward to spending some time at home.

The five finalists also took part in a group performance tonight to Take That's 'Could It Be Magic?', giving them another chance to sparkle.

And the costumes tonight really did stand out, they were a little more outrageous than usual.

Hopefully we'll be back to the usual sparkles next week...

Dancing on Ice airs its semi-final next Sunday (4 March) at 6pm on ITV.
