It was the most watched live show of the series so far
Strictly Come Dancing dominated the all-important Saturday night ratings battle yet again last night (October 7), as a peak of 10.6 million people watched Movies Week.
The themed episode was the third live show in this year's series, and the most-watched yet, improving on last week's 10.2 million viewers at its peak.
Over the course of the show, which saw dances inspired by everything from Toy Story to Indiana Jones and some drama off the dance floor as professional dancer Brendan Cole took on head judge Shirley Ballas, an average of 9.8 million people tuned in, giving the Beeb a 48% share of viewers.
Once again, Strictly dominated ITV rival X Factor, whose final episode of Boot Camp saw an average of 4.8 million viewers, peaking at 5.7 million... nearly half of Strictly's viewers.
With the judges assigned a category to mentor at the end of last night's show, tonight (October 8) will see Simon, Louis, Sharon and Nicole choose which of the hopefuls to take to Judges' Houses as they battle through the infamous Six Chair Challenge.
On BBC One, Strictly will air its second elimination of the series after actress Chizzy Akudolu was the first celebrity to leave the show last week.
