Strictly's Simon Rimmer goes to infinity and beyond

Buzz Lightyear and Jessie quickstepped across the dancefloor

It's the greatest Strictly Come Dancing theme week - Movies Week - and that means that we get to be transported to our favourite flicks to relive the best moments.

Either that or we get to see Simon Rimmer attempt a Quickstep dressed as Buzz Lightyear, which by the way, was equally as entertaining.

What was probably the most impressive part of the routine saw the Sunday Brunch host go to infinity and beyond for a epic finish in the sky, just like a real superhero.

Viewers thought the stunt was pretty good, but the fact he was dressed as Buzz Lightyear and not Woody caused some minor controversy as his professional partner Karen Clifton was dressed as Jessie, though the two were actually a couple in the films.

However, the judges weren't so complimentary, even after last week's routine which had Shirley Ballas in tears.

Shirley did have a little something nice to say, telling Simon, "You did some nice basic footwork, you didn't try and overdo it and you're quite light on your feet for a strapping chap."

Bruno was on his feet immediately bopping up and down and wobbling like a jelly, which we assume was meant to be an imitation of poor Simon.

"The quickstep is smooth, you can't go wobbling all over the place," Bruno told him.

Craig naturally had a list of things he hated about it, completely disagreeing with everything Shirley said.

"I thought it was quite lumpy, there was quite a lot of gapping, a lack of swing, a lack of sway."

Er, well he ended up with a score of 19 anyway, so we'll have to see if that is enough to keep him out of trouble this week.

We'll find out who the second couple to leave the dancefloor is in Sunday's (October 8) results show at 7.15pm on BBC One.
