Tokio Myers has won this year's Britain's Got Talent, after a tense and closely-contested finale

He beat runner-up Issy Simpson to the £250,000 cash prize and a slot at the Royal Variety Performance. Comedian Daliso Chaponda finished in third place.

Tokio said immediately following his win: "What is going on? I cant believe what's just happened! Thank you!"

David Walliams remarked afterwards: "It's fantastic, [Tokio's] oozing with talent, what he does is so cool and different and will be a fantastic ambassador for the show."

"I thought he would [win]!" Amanda Holden added. "It's amazing for the show and amazing for the Royal Variety Show. It feels as cool as when Diversity won."

Simon Cowell added that he was "thrilled" for Tokio, and appearing on Britain's Got More Talent, described him as one of the best BGT winners and a "very special" talent.

During the show Tokio gave us an epic mash-up of classical and pop, mixing a piano performance of music from Interstellar, before launching into a cover of Rag'N'Bone Man's 'Human' with a choir.

It's safe to say the judge were pretty astonished by the performance, David Walliams going as far to call it the "performance of the night".

Alesha Dixon called Tokio the "coolest act" in the show's history, while Simon Cowell described it as "breathtakingly good".

The musician said beforehand that he would like to collaborate with artists such as Ed Sheeran, the judges noting that it could happen.
