What was a crew from Channel 5’s Can’t Pay We’ll Take it Away doing at the Watchmakers pub in Earlsdon last week?

Presenters, crew and High Court enforcement officers who feature in the show were spotted outside the pub by eagle-eyed Earlsdon residents on Tuesday May 9.

The Love Earlsdon Facebook page saw scores of comments from locals speculating as to why the documentary series, which follows High Court enforcement officers, was at the pub - the lease of which is set to be sold at a public auction next week.

In response management from the pub responded to say it was very much “business as usual”, adding that the visit related to a historic payment and the matter was quickly settled.

Steven Carvell, who runs the Warwick Street pub with his sister Sarah , told the Telegraph: “Yes this is correct and related to an historic payment.

“Things like this happen in business whether you are a small independent or a large corporate.

“This has now been resolved, and it is business as usual.”

He added: “We very much look forward to the upcoming auction and also a busy bank holiday weekend at the end of this month.”

A search of the London Gazette might prove enlightening, just sayin'... :stir:
