SHE’S already starred in adverts for House of Fraser and Asda, but tonight Coventry model and musician Emily Hawgood is in the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent.
Emily, aged 29, from Tile Hill, will be singing live with classical singing group Zyrah Rose, whose audition in front of judges Simon Cowell, Alisha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden was broadcast on Saturday night.
Emily said she was feeling a roller-coaster of emotions ahead of tonight’s live show against eight other acts.
She told the Telegraph: “I’m really nervous, but then it’s weird because I go through waves where I then feel excited.
“Every 10 minutes I go through a different emotion.
“It’s amazing that we have made it this far.
“We knew each other from castings and auditions for West End shows, and we thought of the concept to sing together and it worked really well.
“We went through a tough time when we were dropped by a record label, but we fought back because we knew we had something worth showing off.
“Then the idea of Britain’s Got Talent came up, and although it was a very scary thought, we just went for it.”
Emily’s parents will be attending the live show tonight while the rest of her tight knit family will be watching live from their Coventry homes.
“They’re all so excited to see me on live national television,” she said.
“I’ve had so many messages to say my family were crying just at my audition.
