He beat off competition from Will Young, Alison Steadman and Morgana Robinson to take the title with the most inventive baking portrait art we've ever seen.

His portrait of Sir Cliff Richard - comprising of 60 cupcakes - was inspired, especially considering the nostalgic reasons behind his design - and what he regards as his career highlight so far.

Alongside his castmates from The Young Ones, he recorded a cover of 'Living Doll' in 1986 for Comic Relief which got to number one, so he's pretty much come full circle with this Great Sport Relief Bake Off win.

Elsewhere, singer Will Young pre-warned us that he almost poisoned Mary Berry, so we weren't really expecting him to take the Star Baker award anyway.

He said: "I didn't mean to do it [but] it was all fine... It was brilliant, though, and I did get a little taste for baking but perhaps under a very watchful eye."

The Great Sport Relief Bake Off airs on BBC One.
