The tennis coach and her professional partner lost out in the dance-off to Casualty actress Sunetra Sarker and her partner Brendan Cole in the show's Blackpool special.

Murray and Du Beke had struggled in Saturday's live show, scoring 24 points for their Viennese Waltz to 'Let's Go Fly a Kite' from Mary Poppins and landing at the bottom of the leaderboard last night (November 15).

They were joined in the bottom two by Sarker and Cole, who scored 30 points for their samba to the Scissor Sisters' 'I Don't Feel Like Dancin''.

Both couples found themselves having to perform again after the judges scores and viewer votes were combined.

Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli all chose to save Sarker and Cole, with head judge Len Goodman adding that he agreed with their choice.

However, Goodman was complimentary towards Murray and Du Beke, stating: "I'd like to say that I thought tonight's performance was fantastic."

Murray used her exit speech to praise her partner, saying: "I was starting to think I was absolutely hopeless but I know I am still not very good! Anton has treated everything with the most incredible sense of humour.

"He is great fun to be around and has made my Strictly experience very, very special."

Du Beke responded: "I am so excited and thrilled about the whole experience for Judy as she is such a big fan of the show, and the fun that we have had has purely been because of Judy's great sense of humour.

"She is such a warm spirit and character and personality and is such a great sport with such enthusiasm, which made the whole thing enormous fun."

Sunday's results show also featured musical performances from Dame Shirley Bassey, who sang 'Goldfinger', and McBusted, who performed their single 'Air Guitar'.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to the studio on Saturday, November 22 at 7pm on BBC One.
