The 54-year-old emerged from the house to the sound of boos from the waiting crowd.

As she sat down with host Emma Willis, Linda put her fingers in her ears to block out the jeers and grimaced.

When asked if the audience reaction was a surprise to her, she replied: "I haven't been up for nomination though, have I? So I can only go on what housemates think of me.

"I'd love to have stayed in, so yeah, I'm a little bit gutted," she added, "but that's what the show's all about, isn't it?"

As Willis brought up the former singer's arguments with Jim Davidson and showed footage of several confrontations, Linda laughed and looked away from the monitors.

"Look I don't want to spend the whole interview talking about Jim," she began, "but I stand by everything I said.

"I never pretended... The audience only sees 46 minutes of it.

"I wasn't his friend when I came into the house and I wont be his friend when he comes out, but we were fine until Jim had a little drink one night," she explained.

"When we had arguments, he went to low places.

"He went below the belt; he brought up my husband and my husband is dead," she said, before repeatedly asking Willis: "Would you let that happen?"

"I haven't had five or six husbands," Linda added, taking a dig at Jim's multiple divorces.

"He reminded me how much I miss my husband and sometimes sorry isn't good enough. Sometimes sorry is too late."

When Willis asked whether other housemates saw the same side of Jim, Linda described him as "a definite gameplayer".

"He says one thing to your face and is slagging you behind your back," she said.

"He is disgraceful the way he talks about Luisa... so vile and underhand.

She continued: "I think we had something in common because he was so awful to us both."

Despite the ups and downs, Linda described her time in the house as "amazing".

"[It was] everything I thought it would be and more," she told Willis.

"I'd do it again in a heartbeat... even after that response!"

Although Willis later told the remaining housemates they are all now in the final, the contestant with the fewest votes will leave in a surprise eviction on Sunday (January 26).
