Alistair McGowan has been named Star Baker in the final episode of The Great Sport Relief Bake Off.
The comedian and impressionist beat Doon Mackichan, Helen Skelton and Rochelle Humes to win the coveted apron today (January 16).
He managed to win over Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood with his pizza in the signature bake round, his second-placed Eccles cakes in the technical challenge, and his Hawkeye Victoria sponge in the showstopper part of the competition.
"Alistair won because he triumphed with his sponge today," Berry explained. "It was absolutely delicious. He should be proud."
Humes - who impressed with her pizza and showstopper but had a disaster in the technical challenge after mixing up salt and sugar - said she was "really proud" to get through the competition with no tears, commenting: "I had a really good time."
Elsewhere, Skelton joked that it was nice to take part in a Sport Relief event that didn't leave her "battered, bruised and in tears", while Mackichan suggested that she had learned baking is "not that difficult".
McGowan is the fourth celebrity to win the show after Bonnie Wright, Kirsty Young and Emma Freud triumphed in episodes earlier this week.
