Myles Mordaunt was the latest Apprentice candidate to get fired by Lord Sugar tonight (July 3), after the boys' team came up short in a basic sales task.
Sugar told Mordaunt that he wasn't sure if his luxury brands business was well suited for him, saying that it wasn't an appropriate idea to invest in during an economic recession.
"Myles, I don't know whether your past history is really up my alley and the kind of business that I want to be in, to be honest," said Sugar.
"Marketing, expensive brands and all this type of stuff - we are in a recession, in a world recession, and I'm not sure whether that's the kind of business that I want to be in.
"I've got to make a very serious decision here. It's my investment, and I need to be clear who I'm investing with."
Sugar added: "Myles, I'm not sure what your expertise is, and this is simply from a gut feeling, I'm not sure on you either, and for that reason, I have to say that Myles, you're fired."
Neil Clough and
Jordan Poulton survived the boardroom showdown and join
Luisa Zissman,
Leah Totton and
Francesca MacDuff-Varley in the final five.
The Apprentice continues next Wednesday (July 9) at 9pm on BBC One.
