The Apprentice had a shock twist this evening with Lord Alan Sugar choosing to fire two candidates following a Caravan Show sales task.

Kurt Wilson and Natalie Panayi were both axed by Sugar for failing to generate sales and for repeatedly disappointing on the tasks throughout the series.

In an emotional final boardroom, Natalie broke down in tears while attempting to defend her position on the BBC One reality show, but it wasn't enough to save her from the axe.

Sugar told the 30-year-old former pop singer that she hadn't proven herself to him and argued that he'd given her "a hell of a lot of chances" to change his mind.

He also pointed his firing finger at 26-year-old Liverpudlian Kurt, who was the project manager for the losing Team Endeavour this week.

"Kurt, I admire your honesty. You do admit that it was the wrong product and you admit that you got it wrong as far as that's concerned," said Sugar. "But Kurt, you messed up on this task, OK. Kurt, you're fired."

Neil Clough was the winning project manager for team Evolve this week, leading his team to impressive sales figures of £33,615 with help from Jason Leech, Francesca MacDuff-Varley, Jordan Poulton and Luisa Zissman.

The Apprentice continues next Wednesday (June 19) at 9pm on BBC One.
