COVENTRY MESSAGE BOARD

Dr Hilary Jones has become the sixth celebrity to be voted off this series of Dancing On Ice.

After the judges' scores and viewers' votes had been added together, the GMTV doctor and his professional partner Alexandra Schauman found themselves in the skate-off alongside Danny Young and Frankie Poultney.

Both couples then had to repeat their routines in an attempt to persuade judges Karen Barber, Nicky Slater, Jason Gardiner, Emma Bunton and Michael Ball to keep them in the competition.

Following his performance, Jones said: "I think my time has come this evening. You know, the standard of competition this year has been so very, very high. I'm so proud of these guys and love them all to pieces."

Slater said it was "much closer" than he expected and opted to save Young, as did Bunton. Gardiner also chose to keep Young in the competition, meaning that Jones had to leave the competition. Ball and Barber revealed that they would also have saved Young.

After hearing the decision, Jones said that being in the competition had been "terrific fun" and added: "I've loved being part of it, and loved all the guys I've been skating with. It's a wonderful, wonderful show."

Meanwhile, Schauman said the couple had been on a "journey" and added: "It's been a pleasure working with you. You showed such motivation and determination and have done so well. I'm really proud of you."

Dancing On Ice continues next Sunday at 6.45pm on ITV1.
