After the public vote, David and Rory Taylor ended up in the sing-off, where they sang Ronan Keating's 'No Matter What'.

Earlier in the evening, David had performed 'I Try', made famous by Macy Gray, while Rory sang 'In The Air Tonight' by Phil Collins.

After the sing-off, Lord Webber said that the reality show clichés about the decision being 'tough' and that we would "see the loser again" were definitely true in this case, before choosing to save Rory.

Webber said the fact that there is going to be a Superstar arena tour had played into his decision.

David told Amanda Holden that being on the show had "been an amazing experience... meeting such great lads and being able to sing in front of [the] crowd and people at home".

Tomorrow's final between Rory, Ben Forster and Roger Wright will go to the public vote to see who wins the role of Jesus in Lloyd Webber's upcoming production of Jesus Christ Superstar.

The final airs tomorrow (Wednesday) at 9pm on ITV1.
