Apprentice star Adam Corbally has become the latest candidate to be fired from this year's series.
The market trader from Derbyshire (pictured above, centre) just missed out on the opportunity to present his business plan to Lord Sugar after leading Phoenix to failure in this week's semi-final, where candidates were tasked with creating an affordable luxury brand.
Corbally, along with Nick Holzherr and Jade Nash, dreamt up a confectionary range named 'Sweet Thing', but the trio were scolded for failing to come up with a proper business plan and muddling their product with the inclusion of 'drunken jellies'.
On Phoenix's pricing strategy, Sugar commented: "In the mass market superstores... it's too expensive, and the price in the luxury store that you had wasn't expensive enough."
Corbally's team mates were both given a dressing down in the boardroom, with Karren Brady claiming that Holzherr "didn't try that hard" to save the task and Sugar suggesting that Nash's ideas, including the brand name and the 'drunken jellies', "weren't very good".
However, the ex-Amstrad boss ultimately decided that it was Corbally's "time... to leave the process".
He said to the 32-year-old: "You have impressed me in the manner in which you have thrown yourself into everything head first. That aggression, that ambition and that enthusiasm, that in itself in fantastic really, and you're a good salesman also.
"However, there are other areas that I have to consider, the shrewdness, the awareness, the getting the plot."
Corbally, who earlier stated that there was "no way on the planet" he'd get fired, said after his exit: "I'm sad to be going home but I respect Lord Sugar. I've always been a doer not a talker, I never give up. Maybe me and Lord Sugar will meet again one day, you never know."
Holzherr and Nash have won a place in the final alongside Ricky Martin and Tom Gearing, who developed male grooming brand 'Modern Gentleman' for this week's task.
