Russell Grant 'turned down Celeb BB'

Russell Grant has reportedly turned down an appearance on Celebrity Big Brother.

Previous reports had suggested that the astrologer was torn between becoming a housemate and appearing on new ITV1 show Marco Pierre White's Kitchen Burnout.

However, the Daily Star reports that Grant has now decided not to appear on Big Brother because of health reasons.

The 58-year-old, who reportedly suffers from asthma and an allergy to air conditioning, turned down the opportunity after advice from his doctors.

"I told them I couldn't do it because I was allergic to air conditioning," Grant explained. "They said they'd build me a Wendy house. Talk about carry on camping! I'd freeze to death in there in January."

Brooke Kinsella, Stephanie Beacham and Vinnie Jones have been linked to the seventh series of Celebrity Big Brother, which starts on Sunday at 9pm on Channel 4.
