The model and her professional partner Aljaž Skorjanec have become the eleventh champions of the BBC dancing series, beating Natalie Gumede and Susanna Reid to this year's title.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Brendan Cole were eliminated in fourth place earlier this evening (December 21).

Asked how she felt after hearing that she had won this year's series, Clancy said: "I just can't believe this. It's just mad.

She added that her daughter Sophia will be "so happy" with tonight's result.

"She's going to be so happy. She's going to love this [the Strictly trophy]," Clancy explained.

Skorjanec - who only joined the BBC series this year - said that it had been "incredible" to dance with Clancy on his first time as a Strictly professional.

Asked if she will keep dancing, Clancy replied: "Yes!"

Coronation Street star Gumede and her partner Artem Chigvintsev had topped the judge's leaderboard with a score of 119, but the judge's scores did not count in tonight's final.

On her Strictly journey, Gumede said: "It's been so emotional and incredible, and the best experience of my life. I'm so thrilled to have been in the final and I'm so grateful for everybody who has supported us."

Meanwhile, Susanna Reid said that she will miss dancing with her partner Kevin Clifton.

"I'm going to miss it so much. The greatest prize for me was dancing with Kevin," she said. "I felt like a winner everyday, so thank you so much for dancing with me."

Digital Spy readers correctly predicted Abbey Clancy and Aljaž Skorjanec would win Strictly in this week's poll, with 37.18% backing the couple to be crowned this year's winners.

The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special will air on Christmas Day at 5pm on BBC One.
