Friday's Olympics coverage peaked with an impressive 10.8 million viewers, early overnight data suggests.
Although down on most of the previous highs, the women's 1500m averaged over a 45% share of the viewing audience at 9pm.
BBC Three's ratings reached a peak of 1.16m (5.4%) at 10pm as viewers switched over from BBC One to catch Tom Daley's diving in the swimming preliminaries.
Olympics Breakfast (1.54m/39.7%) and Olympics Tonight (2.86m/23.6%) ended the week with high average audiences for BBC One.
The channel's daytime coverage could only reach a high of 4.25m (32.3%) at 5.45pm as commuters returned from work to see Russia win the women's synchronised swimming.
BBC One managed a colossal all-day share of 32.1%, while BBC Three held a decent 3.3%.
