Tom Pellereau's victory in The Apprentice entertained 9m on Sunday evening, while Family Guy's take on Return of the Jedi scooped 1m, the latest audience data has revealed.
The Apprentice final averaged 9.06m (36.3%) for BBC One between 9pm and 11pm, peaking at 10.46m (37.7%) as Lord Sugar chose Pellereau to become his new business partner following a gruelling interview process. The two-hour programme also included spinoff show The Apprentice: You're Hired!, hosted by Dara O Briain.
Series five of Law & Order: UK suffered due to The Apprentice, slumping to 4.28m (15.6%) on ITV1 in the 9pm hour, down by more than 1.5m on last week's debut episode. An additional 167k (0.7%) watched the show on ITV+1.
It's a Trap!, a spoof of Return of the Jedi by US animated comedy Family Guy, premiered with 1m (6.4%) on BBC Three from 10.50pm.
Antiques Roadshow returned to BBC One with 5.04m (22.3%) in the 7pm hour, outperforming The Royal's 4.7m (21.2%) on ITV1 and 178k (0.7%) on +1. Countryfile commanded 5.65m (21.8%) on BBC One in the 8pm hour, soundly beating Born To Shine's 2.8m (10.9%) on ITV1 and 114k (0.5%) on +1.
On BBC Two, a repeat of Murray Walker: Life In The Fast Lane was watched by 1.05m (4.7%) in the 7pm hour, before series 17 of Top Gear revved up 5.11m (19.7%) in the 8pm hour and 837k (3.2%) on BBC HD. Coast fetched 2.25m (8.2%) from 9pm and 133k (0.5%) on BBC HD, and Julia Bradbury's Icelandic Walks strolled away with 1.5m (6.8%) from 9pm. Mock The Week amused 930k (7.5%) from 10pm.
Channel 4's A Place in the Sun: Home or Away booked in 1.03m (4.6%) in the 7pm hour and 108k (0.4%) on +1. The terrestrial premiere of Australia mustered 1.8m (7.2%) from 8pm, and 183k (0.9%) on timeshift.
Screenings of Lost In Space and In The Line of Fire appealed to 1.21m (5.2%) and 708k (3.2%) respectively on Channel 5 from 6.30pm.
Overall, BBC One totally dominated primetime with 29.2% against ITV1's 13.7% (+1: 0.6%). BBC Two scooped third with 10.3%, followed by Channel 4 with 6.6% (+1: 0.6%) and Channel 5 with 3.9%.
Elsewhere, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 Behind the Magic entertained 518k (2.5%) and 563k (2.5%) on ITV2 between 6pm and 8pm, along with 154k (0.7%) and 171k (0.7%) on timeshift.
Coverage of Japan's victory against the USA in the Women's World Cup final scored with 549k (2.1%) on BBC Three from 7.30pm.
