Britain’s Got Talent has announced its winner for the 2023 series, with Viggo Venn coming out on top in a hotly contested final.

The comedian won the public vote for the 16th series, beating 10 other contestants to the £250k cash prize, whilst also securing a spot at the Royal Variety Show.

Viggo's closest competitors were magician Cillian O'Connor, who finished in third place, and Lillianna Clifton, with the dancer finishing runner-up.

"I won not only the heart of Britain, but also the heart of Simon [Cowell]" said Viggo in his winner's speech. "Thank you to everybody who voted for me."

After finishing his speech, Viggo unveiled his trademark high-visibility jacket, parading around the stage as Daft Punk's 'One More Time' boomed around the Hammersmith Apollo to the audience's delight.

The other contestants who competed in the final were Musa Motha, Amy Lou, Olivia Lynes, Ghetto Kids, Travis George, Malakai Bayoh, Duo Odyssey and Tonikaku, who was selected as the wildcard pick from the judges.

Elsewhere in the show, there was a surprise return for Susan Boyle, with the 2009 winner performing alongside the cast of Les Misérables. There was also a notable blunder regarding expletives (again), with Viggo swearing as he pretended his performance had gone wrong.
