The Duke and his team will be in the city all day
Daytime TV legend David Dickinson will grace Coventry with his presence as the Real Deal stops by the city. In a free nine hour event 'Dickinson's Real Deal Valuation Day' welcomes residents to come to the Coventry Building Society Arena and share their personal treasures.
The Duke, still going strong at the age of 84, has been presenting the ITV show since 2006, having previously been the face of the BBC's The Antiques Show and Bargain Hunt.
Real Deal, a stalwart of day time television, sees the public bring their items to events such as this one and have them valued. Some dealers will try and buy the items themselves to sell at auction, and Dickinson flits about giving expert advice.
"David Dickinson and his team of expert dealers are coming to Coventry and they want to see your treasures," the show's Facebook page states. "Have you got antiques, collectables, jewellery or vintage items tucked away in the attic? Don’t let them gather dust, bring them along to Coventry Building Society Arena for a FREE valuation and deals and see what they could be worth.
"Take cash on the spot from one of our dealers OR if you’re feeling lucky, take a chance at auction and see if your item is the Real Deal. We'll be sharing the space with our friends at Vintage Cash Cow who will also be on site with their expertise ready to advise and possibly buy from you!
"Dig out your antiques and collectables and come along on the day, and you might just walk away with a Real Deal!"
The event takes place at the Coventry Building Society Arena from 8am until 5pm on Sunday 19 October. It is a free event, you can just turn up, but visitors are asked to bring photo ID.
