Loose Women confirms Bake Off star for special episode

The show will be celebrating ITV's birthday



Loose Women has announced a brand-new special for later this month, with a The Great British Bake Off star making her debut as a panelist.

Celebrating 70 years of ITV, Loose Women 70+ will feature a panel made up of ladies in their 70s and above: Janet Street-Porter, Lesley Joseph, Gloria Hunniford, and Prue Leith.

"Join us as we say happy 70th birthday ITV! And meet Loose Women's panel of power-agers'," Janet said in a promo clip.

First-time panelist Prue added: "Our 70-plus squad is here – sharing some life lessons we've picked up along the way." While Lesley joked: "We’ll reveal our secrets to ageing disgracefully!"

The show's editor Sally Shelford added: “For 25 years, Loose Women has mirrored the lives of those watching at home, with our wonderful panellists sharing their own experiences and leading the conversation on the topics that mean the most to our viewers.

"In ITV's 70th year, we’re delighted to welcome Lesley and Prue to join Janet and Gloria on the panel for this very special show, shining a spotlight on important issues and celebrating what it means to be 70 and 80 today.

"With an unrivalled wealth of experience and life stories, there will be amazing anecdotes, heartfelt advice and lots of laughs along the way."

The special episode will air next month, on Tuesday, February 28.

Recently, veteran Loose Women panelist Ruth Langsford talked about the possibility of her returning to This Morning, which she hasn't presented since 2022.
