Amy Childs "distraught" over 'Only Way is Essex' exit

Amy Childs has admitted that she is "distraught" about leaving The Only Way Is Essex.



The beautician featured in both series of the ITV2 hit, but confirmed that she would not appear in its third run earlier this month. The 21-year-old has since entered the Celebrity Big Brother house, in a rumoured £200,000 deal.

Prior to joining the Channel 5 show, an "emotional" Childs joined her former castmates to film a The Only Way Is Essex special.

"It's basically a recap of all the best bits from series one and two - all the funny moments, all the awkward silences," she explained in her New magazine column. "It was also my chance to say goodbye to the show.

"It takes a lot to make me cry but I was in floods! Sam [Faiers] had a little cry with me."

She continued: "I'm still distraught. I'm going to miss it so much. My black So Couture dress seemed very fitting as it's a bit like I'm in mourning!"

On entering the Celebrity Big Brother house, Childs admitted that she was "absolutely petrified" but promised to "to be myself and make sure I have a scream".

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 10pm on Channel 5.
