Alfie Moore has become the fifth person eliminated from Show Me The Funny after a disastrous gig in front of a bunch of rowdy rugby players.

The police sergeant faced off with charity worker Dan Mitchell in South Wales after disappointing judges with his failure to recover from a dismal opening gag.

"It's like you had received a death threat," guest judge Johnny Vegas commented. "You were walking around like, 'Oh f**k, any minute could be the end'."

In a rare display of concern, Kate Copstick told the bottom two: "I'm sad that we are here with two guys that have the tickle."

Speaking after his departure, Moore admitted that the set had been "tough" and vowed not to let his disappointment get the better of him.

"I thought it was a tough gig. My opening gag got walked on," he said. "It's obviously disappointing, of course it is, but you've got to be philosophical, and whatever happens, happens for a reason."

Show Me The Funny continues next Monday at 9pm on ITV1.
