Irish-Iranian Patrick Monahan rubs up 37-year-old Cole Parker the wrong way with his sense of humour when they are sent out to the streets of Liverpool for their first task.

Cole compares Monahan to a "toddler" as he walks around giving free hugs to strangers.

Blasting his rival, Parker tells the cameras: "Yesterday I was going to drown Pat in the Mersey. You'll see on stage we don't do things similarly. My jokes have got thought, judgment, reasoning and research.

"Pat talks about balloons and biscuits… He's for the old women and the kids. I'm for people who have read a book."

Tensions grow further the next day and Cole ends up storming off after the pair have a bust-up.

"Cole's getting upset. Let's be adults, you can't just run off!" says Monahan. "This is what I've got to work with, someone who thinks I'm a child. He's an idiot!"

Show Me The Funny airs tonight at 9pm on ITV1.
