Now it’s Desperate Scousewives and Mersey Shore...

Two new Liverpool-based reality shows are set to go head-to-head - with one called Desperate Scousewives.



Channel 4 is planning the Scousewives series while Mersey Shore is set to air on MTV. The shows are set to give Southern reality series The Only Way Is Essex and Made In Chelsea a run for their money.

And they will produce a host of new Scouse reality stars. Splash Media, who made Candy Cabs, are producing Desperate Scousewives and have already held casting sessions in the city.

Mersey Shore is produced by Lime Pictures - makers of MTV hit Geordie Shore and The Only Way Is Essex.

Bosses are rumoured to be keen to sign up Wayne Rooney's cousins glamour model Natalie and cross-dressing Stephen.
