Tess is taking on the Argentine Tango



Tess Daly is back in the ballroom, but this time she's taking on the Argentine Tango! Following a 21-year tenure on Strictly Come Dancing, the TV presenter will bid adieu to the series in the upcoming Christmas special, which will air at 5.30pm on BBC One on Thursday, 25 December.

Set to make a grand exit, Daly, who is leaving the show alongside her co-host and long-time friend Claudia Winkleman, is set to perform the Argentine Tango with professional dancer Aljaz Skorjanec.

Presented as a special gift from Strictly judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke, Daly and Skorjanec's performance will not be aired live, as the episode has been pre-recorded.

As for Winkleman's part in the episode, The Traitors star will team up with Strictly's band composer Dave Arch for a Love Actually parody.

While the Christmas special will mark Daly and Winkleman's final Strictly appearance, the dynamic duo officially bowed out with Saturday's (21 December) live final, which saw footballer Karen Carney and Carlos Gu take home the coveted Glitterball trophy.

Following the season 23 finale, Daly took to Instagram, where she penned a heartfelt message to fans. "So that's a wrap. What an incredible Final – fitting for what, for me, has been an absolutely brilliant series," she began.

"Strictly is a show that is made with love, where joy is the currency and the only agenda. That love is down to every single member of the brilliant team that makes it, because to none of them is it just a job. It is a gift, and it is truly treasured.

"I will be forever grateful for the unforgettable years I have spent sharing this magical show with you," Daly continued.

"I'll miss the Strictly viewers, because they are the very best, the most loyal and supportive, and as passionate about the show as I have always been. It has been the most wonderful privilege to have shared it with you all for so many years. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the memories of a lifetime."
