It was bye-bye to another famous faceThe Masked Singer UK has unmasked its next celebrity, with Piece of Cake being unveiled in the second episode of the latest series.
In tonight’s episode, (January 7) six celebrities were split into pairs as they faced off in a duel, with the loser of each contest being resigned to the bottom three; but not after the judges – Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and Jonathan Ross – submitted their guesses.
Following the audience votes, the bottom three consisted of Jacket Potato, Rubbish and Piece of Cake, with the judges opting to save the first two contestants, meaning the latter was eliminated.
Before they were unmasked, the judges had time to field their final guess; Mo opted for Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk, whilst Davina went for DJ Annie Mac. Rita, noticing the small size of the contestant, guessed it was pop princess Kylie Minogue, whilst Jonathan thought it could be Texas frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri.
All four were incorrect in their guesses however, with Piece of Cake actually being legendary singer Lulu, with one of the clues referencing the opening line to her iconic song 'Shout'.
Earlier in the show, Lulu performed Ed Sheeran's 'Shivers' whilst dressed up, losing out to Rhino who wowed the judges with a rendition of Snow Patrol's 'Chasing Cars'.
In the first matchup, Jacket Potato battled with Fawn for a spot in the next round, with the former rocking the audience with an energetic rendition of Elvis Presley’s ‘Viva Las Vegas’.
Fawn’s performance was far more elegant, with their rendition of the title song from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast leaving judges Davina and Rita in tears.
The other duel saw Rubbish perform ‘Let Me Entertain You’ by Robbie Williams, whilst Pigeon owned the stage with their rendition of TLC’s ‘No Scrubs’.
Lulu becomes the second contestant to exit the fourth series, after Ghost was revealed to be broadcaster and former footballer Chris Kamara last week.
