Peter Andre and his professional partner Janette Manrara bid farewell to Strictly Come Dancing as they became the ninth couple to leave the competition.
After finding himself in the dance-off for the second week in a row, Andre and Manrara faced off with EastEnders actress Kellie Bright and her partner, Kevin Clifton.
On Saturday, the couples danced twice, performing their own routines and taking part in a "Quickstepathon". Andre and Bright found themselves in the bottom two after the public vote was combined with the judges' scores.
Andre and Manrara took to the dancefloor for a repeat of their American smooth to 'Sweetest Feeling' by Jackie Wilson, while Bright and Clifton did a salsa to 'I Want You Back' by The Jackson 5.
Following the performances, the judges praised both couples' abilities but ultimately chose Bright and Clifton for their superior technical skills.
Bruno Tonioli said: "They both gave a very powerful and very entertaining performance but based on the dance I saw the one that I thought has more content and was technically more accurate was Kellie and Kevin."
Head judge Len Goodman agreed with Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Tonioli's decision to send Andre home.
Following the verdict, Andre told Tess Daly that competing on the show had been "nothing but joy". He said: "Like I said before there is no shame in leaving, we are so grateful. I love everybody. Thank you."
Manrara added: "I definitely have made a friend for life, we got on straight away. He worked so hard in rehearsals, we had ups and downs and pushed through them. I love you and I am so glad to have you as part of my life going forward."
Andre's exit follows a week of controversy for the show. Former contestant Jamelia, who went home ahead of Andre last week, appeared to suggest the result had been rigged after crowd reactions were re-recorded.
And professional dancer Anton du Beke was criticsed by viewers following Saturday's show, as he appeared to brand Andre's American smooth performance as "awful".
Also on Sunday night's show, viewers were treated to musical performances from former American Idol star Adam Lambert and classical quartet Il Divo.
Strictly Come Dancing returns Saturday, December 5 at 7pm with the results show on Sunday December at 7:20pm on BBC One. Next week's quarter final will see the six remaining couples face the music and dance to classic musicals.
